Coming attraction: "Russell Cabins at The Ridge"

Cabins may be purchased this April.

The Ridge is Russell Lands On Lake Martin’s most ambitious neighborhood to date.  With the country’s largest and most modern lake marina, miles and miles of trails and sidewalks, four waterfront parks and a world-class clubhouse with swimming, tennis and fitness facilities, you might wonder how the folks at Russell Lands could make it any better.  The answer lies in providing more diverse ownership opportunities such as selling a Russell Cabin!

The Ridge is just 10 years young with almost 300 developed waterfront homesites and 24 luxury townhome residents already here.  There are additional phases planned for the future, but nothing in recent Ridge history has generated as much interest as the potential to own a Russell Cabin. The Nichols Cove cabins are the latest generation of the humble Russell Cabins which have graced the shores of Lake Martin for decades.  Older cabins were designed for the lifestyles and technologies of the past.  Many do not have central heat or air, instead utilizing the lake breezes flowing through screened porches to provide relief in the summer.  Kitchens, baths and bedrooms are smaller in the older cabins since most visits were weekend occasions more so than retirement. 

The Russell Cabins at The Ridge, in a more modern form, will blend the best of the original cabins (large lot, big views, screened porches) with the best of the present (larger kitchens, larger family space and master retreats – with air conditioning).  It was important to provide modern convenience within a humble and rustic envelope.  Therefore, every cabin is built with rustic features (wood floors, walls and ceiling and real stone fireplaces) in order to be true to our “Russell roots”. 

The wait for Cabin ownership is nearly over
In last month’s Explorer we announced the availability of the new Russell Cabins at The Ridge.  Now, we are putting the finishing touches on this neighborhood.  Road work will be complete mid-month as will a variety of Russell Cabin designs specifically created to fit within the land and lake setting.  We are very excited about this new generation of Russell Cabins and the lifestyle that it provides Lake Martin lovers. 

Judging from the rave reviews for the Nichols Cove cabins, and the large number of e-mails and calls for information related to the Russell Cabins at The Ridge, we are going to make a lot of people very happy.  The universal response is a love for the concept, a love for the area, a love for the designs and most importantly, a love for the price point, ranging for the most part between $850,000 and $950,000. Since this is a turn-key project, where a purchaser only needs to bring furniture, a boat and a swimsuit, many have found this to be a good addition to The Ridge property mix.
