Ladies and gentlemen,
please welcome Railroad Earth!

Railroad Earth (RRE) will make a stop at The AMP Labor Day Weekend for the end of summer concert! The Labor Day show is always the big blowout, and we've got three bands for you this year. For those of you who may not immediately know RRE, here’s our take!

Railroad Earth
The members of Railroad Earth aren’t losing sleep about what “kind” of music they play – they just play it. When they started out in 2001, they were a bunch of guys interested in playing acoustic instruments together. It started that informally; just getting together and doing some picking and playing. Over a few months period, they started working on some original songs, as well as playing some covers that they thought would be fun to play.

Since then, they’ve gone on to release five critically acclaimed studio albums and one hugely popular live one called, Elko. They’ve also amassed a huge and loyal fanbase who turn up to support them in every corner of the country, and often take advantage of the band’s liberal taping and photo policy. But Railroad Earth bristles at the notion of being lumped into any one genre. They use unique acoustic instrumentation, but they’re definitely not a bluegrass or country band, which sometimes leaves music writers confused as to how to categorize them. They essentially play rock on acoustic instruments.

Musicians play music, and don’t necessarily worry about where it gets filed. It’s the writers, record labels, managers, etc., who tend to fret about what “kind” of music it is. Or, as Levon Helm, a great drummer/singer/mandolin player with an appreciation for Americana once said: “Rock & roll!”

Don’t miss an opportunity to experience Railroad Earth.

The Lonely BiscuitsThe Lonely Biscuits
The Lonely Biscuits formed in the Fall of 2011. The Biscuits have gained attention over the past few years while releasing four EPs, two of which reached the top of the Billboards Heatseaker’s Charts, and playing college shows across the country to their loyal and growing fan base. During their sophomore year, the band won the 2013 MTV Woodie Award for College Band of the Year and played the Woodies at SXSW.

The band has become known for its evolving high-energy live show. In 2014, the band played their first headlining tour, playing sold out shows in every city. The Lonely Biscuits have also played Hangout Music and Arts Festival, Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits, and Lollapalooza.

The VegabondsThe Vegabonds
Forming in Alabama in 2009, The Vegabonds hit the ground running. After recording their first album with less than a year under their belts and constant touring of the southeast, The Vegabonds knew it was time for something bigger. From sharing the stage with the likes of Gregg Allman, Charlie Daniels, and Tesla to playing festivals, such as The Peach Music Fest, to multiple tours of the U.S. and Europe, The Vegabonds continue to grow and have no plans of slowing down.

Since moving to Nashville in 2012, they have written the strongest material of their career. Their newest album, What We’re Made Of, is filled with vivid stories and proficient playing that pay respect to their influences, yet are undeniably original, making their “New South Rock” style both exciting and relatable. What We’re Made Of, recorded in Nashville at Welcome to 1979 Studios and tracked to tape, is surely The Vegabonds’ best offering yet, and their high-intensity, dynamic live shows will keep fans, both old and new, coming back for more.

The gates at The AMP will open at 5 p.m. on Sunday, September 6, and the show will start around 6:00. Tickets are available at www.theamponlakemartin.com and will be available at the Company Store at Russell Crossroads, Russell Lands Corporate Office and Nail’s Convenience Store.
