Painting and cooking classes, wine dinners, bocce and more offered at SpringHouse this fall

Just because Labor Day is upon us doesn't mean the fun is over. Oh, no. SpringHouse is adding a host of activities for your enjoyment this fall. Painting and cooking classes, bocce and croquet on the lawn and special wine dinners provide a great opportunity to enjoy great weather and colorful fall foliage at Russell Crossroads. Painting on the Porch - 6:00-8:00 pm
Join local artist, Bonnie Luckie, at SpringHouse for a fun-filled evening art class on the upstairs porch.  The cost is $25.00 and includes a 16 x 20 canvas, paints, brushes, two hours of instruction and a glorious view.  Food and drinks will be available from the small plates menu. Wine Dinners
On September 24th, SpringHouse will be hosting its first wine dinner. Chandler Busby of Grassroots Wine Distributors out of Birmingham, Alabama will be featuring wines to pair perfectly with Chef Rob McDaniel’s menu of fabulous fall fare. The event will begin with cocktails and hors d' oeuvres at 7pm and dinner will be served at 7:45pm. The cost of this event will be $75++ per person. There will be limited seating for this dinner, so be sure to make reservations early. View the calendar >

Wine and Bocce Ball
Starting in October, SpringHouse will begin bocce tournaments and croquet tournaments every other Thursday night. Guests will be able to play the games on the front lawn while enjoying hors d' ouvres and their beverage of choice. The winning team of these tournaments will win a SpringHouse gift certificate. Cooking Classes
Sign up for Chef Rob McDaniel’s cooking classes and become top chef at your house. The cooking classes will be held on Thursday nights in our open kitchen.  Classes will focus on things like how to make homemade pasta, risotto, and how to roast the perfect chicken to name a few.  Space is limited, so sign up soon. The first class is slated for October 15th.  The cost of the classes is $25/person and will include the class and hors d’oeuvres. Our upstairs kitchen will also be open for anyone that might want to grab dinner afterwards. View the calendar >

Foraging for Nature's Bounty
Small groups will gather at the Russell Crossroads Adventure Center at 9 a.m. and forage for seasonal food items such as mushrooms, persimmons, blackberries, wild pears, and muscadine grapes.  Foragers will get an education on how to connect with nature and take advantage of the bountiful natural surroundings.  After the excursion the group will be invited to take part in an outdoor cookout using the items gathered.  Reservations are required and can be made by calling SpringHouse at 256.215.7080.
