With Fall in the air, there is so much to explore at Russell Crossroads.  The many activities planned are listed in the Russell Lands On Lake Martin Events Calendar of this newsletter.  If you have questions or would like to make a reservation, call 256.215.7080 for these events at SpringHouse.

Additional Cooking Classes Added!
We had such a tremendous response to the cooking class at SpringHouse, so two classes have been added on Saturday, October 10 and 24, at 12:00pm. The October 15, Thursday night class is already full so we wanted to give others an opportunity to join Chef Rob McDaniel and become top chef at your house. The cooking classes will be held in our open kitchen with classes focusing on things like how to make homemade pasta, risotto, and how to roast the perfect chicken to name a few. Space is limited, so sign up soon. The cost of the classes is $25/person including hors d’oeuvres.

Bocce and Croquet Tournaments
Have you heard?  It’s time for bocce and croquet tournaments on most Thursday nights at SpringHouse, starting October 1. You and your friends are invited to play the games on the front lawn while enjoying hors d’oeuvres and a beverage of choice. The winning team of these tournaments will win a SpringHouse gift certificate. Don’t worry if you don’t know how to play… the SpringHouse guys will be there to instruct and get you started.  Be there at 5:30 with your game face on.  Get your teams together now for these two classic games. Painting from the Hearth
October 8, 6-8pm
October brings local artist, Bonnie Luckie, back to SpringHouse for another great night of art instruction and fun. The $25.00 fee includes a 16 x 20 canvas, paints, brushes and two hours of instruction. The hearth setting for the class provides a casual elegance to inspire even the most novice painter. Come early to have a glass of wine with a friend or fellow classmate and share small plates afterwards and discuss the talent you’ve discovered. Wine Dinner
On October 22, SpringHouse will host its second wine dinner. Lindsay Rogers from MBC-United Wholesale will feature American wines with Chef Rob McDaniel’s slow cooking.  The event will begin with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres at 7pm and dinner will be served at 7:45pm. The cost associated with this event is $75++ per person. There will be limited seating for this dinner, so be sure to make reservations early by calling SpringHouse at 256.215.7080.
