Those of us with Lake Martin in our blood eagerly await the official opening rite of summer — Memorial Day Weekend. Luckily for us, Memorial Day Weekend is almost a week earlier this year — May 23, 24 and 25, and of course Memorial Day on May 26th! This year, we’ve got a special treat for you. The inaugural RXR Fest will bring numerous musical acts to the Town Green Friday evening, Saturday afternoon and evening, and Sunday afternoon. It will be a great time to bring your family and friends, kick back in the cool grass, play some bean bag toss, let the kids create chalk art on the sidewalks and play on the playground, enjoy the shade as you take a stroll along the Turpentine Trail or just enjoy warm sunshine and soak up some great live music.
We have a great lineup of performers! Those appearing include Joe Bagley & Matt Kooken, The Bank Walkers, The Pine Hill Haints, the Ben Sutton Band, Martha’s Trouble, Mitch Emmons and more. The best part is, Friday, Saturday and until 5:30pm on Sunday is all FREE! From 6-9pm on Sunday, SpringHouse will be hosting a Crawfish Boil Finale with live music by the River Dan Band. Tickets for the Sunday night event are $50 per person, include food, beer and wine, some great music, and are available for purchase at SpringHouse. Tickets are limited, so get yours early.
