Russell Marine to host
women's boating class and annual In-Water Boat Show

River North Marina

Ladies, have you ever wanted to learn to operate a boat on Lake Martin, or tell your husband the right way to do it? Now you have the chance! Russell Marine and the Alabama Marine Police are teaming up on Saturday, April 6, to once again present the Women on Lake Martin boating class. This free course will be held at River North Marina and features a combination of classroom time and hands-on instruction on the lake. 

Presented by the Alabama Marine Police, classroom content will focus on safety, right-of-way and boating laws. Then attendees will move outside for the hands-on portion, including “pre-start” checks, safe on-water operation and docking. Hands-on instruction will be performed by the boating experts of Russell Marine and Lake Martin Resource Association. It’s certain to be a fun morning, or afternoon, of learning and confidence building. You don’t even need your own boat, but if you want to get comfortable with yours, it is welcome.
