Slow and sustainable applies to fashions and home too
Saturday, January 14, 9am-3pm
Have you heard of Natalie Chanin? She is all about Sustainable life, Sustainable style. She started Alabama Chanin, a lifestyle company that focuses on creating a collection of products through slow design and sustainability. They craft limited edition products for the individual and home. Alabama Chanin products are made-by-hand using a combination of new, organic and recycled materials. Each piece is constructed by talented artisans who live and work around Florence, Alabama.
The Alabama Chanin workshop series allows participants to work directly with Natalie Chanin and members of the Alabama Chanin design team. "Our guests experience total immersion in the Alabama Chanin philosophy as they learn various stitching techniques, tips and tricks, as well as an explanation of our business model and company history. We offer several projects of varying intensity and length to satisfy all levels of skill and patience. Conducted in a casual, open forum, the subject matter tends to cover a wide range of topics. We provide materials, know-how, and local cuisine." Everything needed to create your own custom project or DIY kit is included. The $450 workshop includes instruction, stories, laughter and an amazing SpringHouse lunch. Please visit the Alabama Chanin website to register.
